Grump - The Caveman

Animals don’t have a sense of time. They don’t think in terms of today, tomorrow, or yesterday. They only think of the now. They don’t worry about growing old or death.

There was a time when humans became aware of the passing years, and with that, became away for the future. I believe this is when our species turned from animals to humans. It was at this point we became aware of time. This was the time of cave person, Grump

Imaging Grump waking in the morning and, for the first time, seeing the sun. It’s been there forever but for some reason he never gave it any thought, probably because he didn’t have thought. Now he see it and it’s wonderful! It provides light and heat, and it feels so good on the naked skin. The sun is Grump’s god.

And then the night falls. Before today Grump never noticed the sun and now, for the first time, notice the lack of sun. It ran behind the hills on the opposite side of the land from where he first saw it this morning. The heat and the light are gone. The world has become are scary place! Your god is gone. The end of the world has begun. The night is cold and Grump sits, huddled in a cave, praying for his god to return.

At some point sleep overtakes him. Upon waking, he finds the Sun God is back. Days go by and the idea of the Sun God leaving on one side and arriving on the other becomes comfortable. The Sun God leave so you can sleep. Soon after, Grump figures out he can keep a part of it to keep warm. He calls it fire.

One day it Sun God doesn’t seem to be as warm or bright as usual and the trees begin to change color. A white sheet blocks Sun God. Grump refer to as the Evil Cloud God. Day-by-day it gets colder and Evil Cloud God up in the sky start to fall in little white bits. These bits cover everything! All plant life looks dead and there is nothing for Grump to eat. Cloud God is beating Sun God and Grump is hurting. Once again Grump thinks it the end of the World.
